Lori Wilson Lori fell in love with kayaking and began her career as a sea kayak guide shortly after moving to Orcas Island in 1982. She founded Shearwater Sea Kayak Tours and led trips in the San Juan Islands, Baja, California, Canada and Alaska. After moving on from Shearwater, she joined Kurt Hoelting and Inside Passages where she led meditation trips for six years. During this time, she spent several winters practicing Zen with Shodo Harada Roshi at Sogenji in Japan. In 2000, Lori moved to Mexico with her husband Dan, where they bought 15 acres in Guanajuato and began a new life. Currently she raises organic vegetables and practices acupuncture, as well as doing volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity.
We are excited to have Lori returning to Alaska with Inside Passages in 2007 season, where she will be Head Guide on the trip with Mark Coleman. Lori will be ably assisted by Ginny Mahar as Co-guide for the trip.
